Explanation:
The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty by the United Nations(UN) is observed annually on 17th October under the resolution (A/RES/47/196), adopted on 22 December 1992 at the UN General Assembly (UNGA). The theme for the year 2019 is “Acting together to empower children, their families, and communities to end poverty”. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the declaration by the General Assembly. The day aims to recognize that all people must come together to end poverty and discrimination in order to build a sustainable future. Under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), No Poverty is the No.1 goal.
