The Sindh government has announced to reopen the schools from 30th August 2021. The announcement has been made by the Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah. According to the decision taken the schools that had vaccinated 100% of their staff will be permitted to resume the academic activities and the students will attend the physical classes. He said that 80% of staff members at the private educational institutes had been vaccinated up till now. Moreover, the parents are required to submit the vaccination certificates issued by the National Database and Registration Authority so that their children will be allowed to attend the schools.
Reopening Of Schools
The minister has said that it is important to increase the vaccination rate so lockdown is not needed to be imposed for the safety of the students. The schools will be allowed to reopen with 50% attendance only and random PCR testing will be also carried out to check the cases of coronavirus. Earlier it had been announced that all the public and private schools in Sindh will be reopened from 23rd August 2021 but now the closure of schools has been extended for one week as per the guidelines provided by the health department. Last week, Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah had also said that all the educational institutes including schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed for another week so that the teaching and non-teaching staff members get vaccinated before joining the schools.
Private Schools Association
The education minister further added that the private schools associations had made the demand to allow the vaccinated staff members to come to the schools so that they can plan the lessons to teach the students in the upcoming week. According to the statement issued by the minister, permission has been granted to the vaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff members to come to schools to prepare the lessons for the students.Â
