NAVTTC To Establish 5 Centers Of Excellence Across Pakistan

The NAVTTC – National Vocational and Technical Training Commission is planning to establish 5 more centers of excellence across Pakistan. The centers of excellence are also announced to be developed in National Training Bureau (NTB), National Skills University (National Institute of Scientific and Technical Education-NISTE) in Islamabad. The institutes are planned to be established in capital cities of each province including one in Islamabad. The institutes will be established with collaborations of various partner organizations.

The COE to be developed in National Skills University is funded by Turkish Development Agency, TIKA whereas, the other COEs are still under process of construction, planning and funding. PC-1 has started working on establishment of technical training facilities in 13 districts of the country to meet the growing needs of Heavy Machinery Operators and international and private jobs market.

The importance of technical and vocational training institutes is regarded highly in developing countries like Pakistan. China has made massive investment in technical training institutions along with collaboration of Punjab government to meet the growing needs of technically skilled workers for ongoing CPEC project. The courses based on technical and vocational training programmes are short and their jobs can be availed in their professional field instantly.

PC-1 is establishing technical and vocational training institutions in districts such as: Gilgit, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Mansehra, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Gwadar, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Karachi. Through its establishment, employment will be provided to many Pakistani youngsters who will help stabilize the economy of Pakistan.
