Murad Raas Notifies About Punjab Schools Closure Due To COVID-19

The Punjab education minister, Murad Raas has informed the students about the closure of the public and private schools across Punjab. According to the announcement made by the education minister the decision has been taken by considering the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic. Due to the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases the minister has announced to shut down the schools to ensure the safety of the students. Since the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, the educational institutes have been closed for an extended time period and the academic and examination activities also got disturbed. However, the government has instructed the institutes to take online classes so that the students can complete the coursework.

Closure Of Schools

As per the statement issued by the Murad Raas the Punjab schools will remain closed from 6th September 2021 to 11th September 2021. The minister has also instructed the students to stay at home and follow the SOPs issued by the government in order to be protected by the coronavirus pandemic. Previously the provincial government had decided to reopen the schools so that the academic activities can be resumed. However, the schools across the other provinces had also been reopened from this week. The Punjab education minister has again announced the closure of the schools but no such announcement has been made by the other provincial governments. 

Directives About Vaccination

Earlier the education minister had directed all the teachers and administration staff of the public and private schools to be vaccinated. It had been clarified that without the vaccination certification no one will be allowed to enter the school premises. The notification had been issued according to the directives provided by the health department in the meeting with the National Command and Operation Centre last month.Â
