Explanation:
International Jazz Day was observed on 30th April 2019, globally, to recognize jazz and its diplomatic role in uniting people. The day was designated in 2011 by UNESCO. Jazz Day is chaired by Audrey Azoulay, Director general of the UNESCO along with UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbert Jeffrey Hancock.Hancock is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer, and actor. 2019 edition of International Jazz Day was launched in Australia. As a part of the celebrations, on 29 and 30 April, community service initiatives, education programmes and a wide range of jazz performances were presented in partnership with the Melbourne Conservatorium, University of Melbourne, featuring more than a dozen celebrated jazz masters.
