HEC Issue Notice to Universities To Conduct Online Classes In the Selected Areas

Earlier the federal education minister for education and professional training had announced that the decision regarding the reopening of the educational institutes will be reviewed by the national command and operation center. In this regard, it had been decided that the public and private institutes will remain closed from 15th March 2021 to 28th March 2021 due to the rise in coronavirus cases. Now according to the announcement made by the HEC officials the students will attend the online classes to cover their course work before the conduction of the exams.

Moreover, the ongoing exams and the scheduled exams will be conducted as per the declared schedule by the concerned authorities. The HEC will conduct the exams with the strict implementation of the coronavirus SOPs. The universities are also instructed to follow precautionary measures to minimize the risk of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Closure of Schools

Previously the meeting of the national command and operation center was held in which it had been declared that there is a continuous rise in the COVID-19 cases due to which the government had decided to again close the schools for at least two weeks in Punjab. The situation of COVID-19 is under control in Sindh and Balochistan and 50% of students are allowed to take the classes on alternate days. Due to increased cases in Peshawar, the educational institutes in the city will remain closed till 28th March 2021.Â
