2. Fatal explosion during Ashura procession in Punjab

What’s going on? A couple of days ago, Pakistan’s Foreign Office condemned the tear-gas shelling on a Muharram procession in India-administered Kashmir. Pakistan’s Foreign Office accused India’s government of disrespecting the sentiments of Muslims in India-administered Kashmir. Now, Pakistan is dealing with its own blast that struck a procession of Shia Muslims who were marking Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram.

The details: At least three people were killed, and 50 others wounded, when a roadside bomb struck the procession. The cause of the explosion is still unclear, and an investigation is ongoing.
