2. PM Imran Khan launches the first phase of Single National Curriculum

What’s going on? Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Single National Curriculum at a ceremony in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood, called the Single National Curriculum “a milestone to end disparity in the education system” since all children will have a fair and equal opportunity to receive a high quality education.

The details: Mahmood said the Single National Curriculum has been launched for grades pre-one to five in public schools, private schools and religious seminaries. Next year, the Single National Curriculum will be introduced in grades six to eight, and then grades nine to 12 in 2023. So far, the Single National Curriculum has been implemented in all provinces except Sindh.
