The Final Decision About Closure of Schools After NCOC Meeting

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Tuesday announced that in-person classes till grade 8 will remain suspended till April 28 in districts where the COVID-19 positivity ratio is high.

In the meeting it has been proposed by the health department that the annual exams of matric and intermediate should be held after Eid-ul-Fitr. The provincial education ministers agreed to hold the exams after Eid because of the rapid upsurge in the number of the coronavirus cases. Moreover the education ministers are also considering to shut down the schools, colleges and universities till Eid due to the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

Final Decision

Although the final decision has not been announced yet so the students are anxiously waiting for the announcement. The federal education minister ensures that the decision will be taken after reviewing the ongoing situation of the pandemic. Yesterday many students protested against the government’s decision about the conduction of the exams and the students demanded to cancel the exams.
