Schools may be reopened after August 15 if situation is in control : Dr. Murad Raas.

Punjab Education Minister Dr. Murad has hinted that schools may be reopened from August 15. The provincial minister for education Dr. Murad Raas made an important announcement regarding the reopening of schools. In a meeting presided by Dr. Murad Raas on July 04, 2020 he said that “If the situation around the country in control then all the schools will be reopened in all over the province after 15th August .” He further added that there will be no permission to restart all classes simultaneously, only necessary classes will be allowed in the first phase. In this regard, only twenty students will be allowed to attend one class.The minister also said that we were working on the standard operating procedures necessary to reopening of schools.

Meanwhile, All Pakistan Private Schools Federation president Kashif Mirza while presiding a press conference once again requested the government to reopen the schools and claimed that SOP’s had been prepared in this regard to protect students and teachers from corona virus pandemic. They also guaranteed full cooperation to the government for implementation of SOP’s in all schools.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) had recommended that educational institutions be kept closed till August, in view of the possibility of a corona outbreak by July 15. An inter-provincial ministerial conference was scheduled to be held on July 2 to decide on the opening of universities and educational institutions. However, the conference was postponed due to the death of Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood’s mother.
