PMC To Launch The Online System to Facilitate Medical Graduates and Doctors

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) plans on launching an online application system to facilitate medical graduates and licensed practitioners. With this reform, these professionals could easily apply for licenses, renewals, and other services without visiting the commission office. According to the source, the digital license profile project’s launching was pre-approved by PMC from March 2021.

Under this project, it was anticipated that medical students would be able to update their online profiles and their current status with automated verification processes after biometric verification. Upon the biometric verification, the online profile will be updated with the automated verification process. Through this process, the license will be immediately issued to the practitioners and moreover, it will secure the data as well as the identity of the candidates. This would allow the commission to halt their renewal process and remove any charges imposed on their licenses.

Policy For Licensed Doctors

Pakistan Medical Commission PMC also approved the policy for the doctors who were not practicing or based out of Pakistan to notify the Commission regarding the status of their practice. Furthermore, the committee has also approved the decision of the disciplinary committee regarding the fines, invalid licenses, and suspending licenses on account of negligence. In case of violation, they also imposed major and minor penalties to warn the practitioners. The council has also taken the notice of the foreign medical graduates so that they can start their house job in Pakistan. 

Provisional License

According to the details, applicants who graduated before January 2021 from the foreign college will process for licensing with the requirements. And they have to show the license eligibility of the country from which they are graduated, or otherwise they have to qualify NLE. After qualifying for the NLE they will be given the provisional license and they can complete the house job in Pakistan and afterward they would be granted the full license. Those candidates who fail to qualify NLE will be suspended until they qualify for the test.
