Pakistan Education Ministers decide to pass all matric and Inter students

The inter-provincial education ministers’ conference was held under the chairmanship of Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood. The education ministers have decided to pass the 10th class and 2nd years students.

During the conference, the government decided to pass all the students of classes X and XII. Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood also tweeted that it was decided that to calculate numbers in compulsory subjects the average of elective subjects will be taken. However to facilitate students all those who fail in any subject will be given 33% marks for the purpose of computing averages.

It is also decided that the Board exams will be held in May-June and the next academic year will start from August 22. O and A level exams will be held as per schedule. Sources said that the students who failed would be given a pass of 33 marks.

The Education Ministers also felt that since widespread vaccination has taken place in the education sector, educational institutions should reopen as soon as possible. A recommendation to this effect will be made to NCOC.

The education ministers decided that immediate re-examinations were not possible because of Corona. According to sources, the education ministers decided that the matriculation and intermediate examinations would be held twice a year.

The education ministers also decided that the exams would not be called supplementary exams. The education ministers also decided that the matriculation examinations would be held in May and June next year.
