PM Imran Khan has launched National University in Islamabad on Friday. The resolution to convert PM House into a University of international standards has been first expressed by PM during his first speech after getting elected. This resolution has now taken practical form after 100 days of his tenure.
During the launching ceremony of National University Pm Imran Khan expressed, ‘When I made Shaukat Khanum, people asked me how would the poor be treated for free. I had faith that there will be a Centre of Excellence, any society that has progressed it is because they focused on education and human development. If a small class of people makes money, then the country cannot progress, this was a revolution for the world that there is nothing higher than education, the change came in me after my visit to Britain and looking at how the people lived there’.
HEC chairman Dr Tariq Banori said that the University will give high quality education and in its second phase of construction 30 acres of PM House area will be utilized for establishing more departments for undergraduate programmes. Initially the University will be teaching governance related subjects and later other courses will be gradually added.
