Educational Institutes in Punjab Cities Closed From March 15th To March 28th, 2021 Due To Covid-19

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Wednesday announced the closure of schools in several cities from Monday, March 15 following a spike in coronavirus cases. Speaking to the media after a meeting at the National Command and Operations (NCOC), the federal minister said educational institutes would be closed in Islamabad and other Punjab cities from Monday for two weeks. However, it is announced that from March 28th, 2021 onward all the educational institutes will be resumed.

Covid-19 Current Situation In Pakistan 

Recently, after taking a brief review on the situation of Covid-19 in Pakistan it was decided that the educational institutes from across the country will be resumed from January or February. The educational institutes were resumed in different phases. In the first phase, schools were resumed, and then colleges and universities were resumed. However, it came to see that in Punjab the number of corona cases is increased whereas in the rest of the provinces the situation is quite normal.

Areas Where Spring Holidays Is Applied 

The following are the nominated cities where the educational institutes will be shut down:

•Lahore

•Multan

•Rawalpindi

•Faisalabad

•Sialkot

However, all the public and private schools in the rest of the areas or districts will continue studies under the normal schedules.

Next Meeting Of Education Ministry

During the meeting, it was decided that on April 12th, 2021 further meeting will be held in which the examination session of almost all the classes will be discussed. During this meeting, the positive ratio of the COVID cases will also be evaluated and then the further decision will be taken.
