The details: Pakistan was ranked ‘most improved’ among countries with materials, primarily due to enhanced security and control measures. The index reviewed nuclear security in Pakistan based on two main criteria,
Theft: Secure Materials, a ranking of 22 countries with 1 kilogram or more of weapons-usable nuclear materials. This category evaluates actions related to securing those materials against theft. Pakistan scored 47/100, and ranked 19/22. Pakistan was the most improved country in the theft ranking, increasing its score by seven points.
Sabotage: Protect Facilities, a ranking of 46 countries (plus Taiwan – the index didn’t label Taiwan as a country) with nuclear facilities, such as nuclear power reactors and research reactors. This category evaluates actions related to protecting those facilities against sabotage. Pakistan scored 58/100, and ranked 33/47.
