  • UAE residents in Pakistan are exempt from carrying COVID-19 vaccination certificate when traveling to Dubai: Travel rules have been revised once again by the United Arab Emirates; UAE residents arriving from Pakistan and five other countries are no longer required to carry a COVID-19 vaccination certificate when they travel to Dubai. However, they’ll still be expected to have a negative COVID-19 certificate issued 48 hours before traveling, as well as complete a COVID-19 PCR test 4 hours before their flight departs. Additionally, all passengers arriving in Dubai must complete a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival.
  • Saudi Arabia to allow vaccinated overseas worshippers for Umrah: Saudi Arabia said it would receive Umrah pilgrimage requests from vaccinated overseas worshippers starting on August 9, 2021. It has been 18 months since Saudi Arabia closed its borders to Umrah pilgrims outside the country due to COVID-19. In October 2020, the country only re-opened the Umrah pilgrimage to domestic worshippers. Saudi Arabia will receive Umrah requests from various countries but did not specify which countries. To start, permits will be given to 60,000 Umrah pilgrims per month. Overseas pilgrims will have to include authorized COVID-19 vaccination certificates in their Umrah request. Saudi Arabia recognizes the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.
