Chairman of PITB Visits E-Rozgar Center at Lahore college for women university Lahore

On Wednesday, Mr Azfar Manzoor who is chairman of Punjab Information Technology Board visited the e-Rozgaar Center at Lahore College for Women University without notice. He was accompanying Director General e-Governance PITB Mr Sajid Latif with him. He was received by the Vice Chancellor of LCWU Dr Farkhanda Manzoor, Head of Bio-Technology Department LCWU and focal person of e-Rozgaar Dr Shagufta Naz and team members of LCWU e-Rozgar Center.
The Chairman communicated with university students and took their feedback regarding academic activities at LCWU. The students praised the state of the art facilities of e-Rozgar center and the quality of training workshops conducted at LCWU under supervision of PITB. The students also commended the work environment and equipments available at e-Rozgar Center.
The Chairman of PITB took suggestions from university students in order to improve the services of e-Rozgar Center. Replying to Chairman PITB the students suggested that the age limit of availing services of e-Rozgar program must be made flexible. It is currently 35 years and the students suggested that the age limit must be increased from 35 years so that more candidates can avail benefits. They also requested the Chairman to amend and change selection criteria by making training available for candidates having done 14 years of education.
The Chairman of PITB ensured students that their constructive suggestions will be considered for implementation and their concerns will be removed. Director General e-Governance announced that more e-Rozgar Centers will be established in other cities of the province of Punjab to benefit more individuals. The centers will have similar state of the art facilities.
So far e-Rozgar Program has trained as many as 8,900 candidates in various IT related skills and digital skills. The trainees have reportedly earned more than 8.8 Crore PKR so far. The aim of e-Rozgar program was to equip youth of Punjab with skills to eliminate unemployment and develop socio-economic status of Pakistan. E-Rozgar program is providing career opportunities to students and young professionals and is making them to earn an honorable income for their families and themselves.
The e-Rozgar Center at  Lahore College for Women University has graduated 509 students till now.These graduated students have so far earned more than 65,000 US$. A Total of 25 e-Rozgar centers are operational in Punjab currently. Out of which 5 centers are solely dedicated to female students. These centers are located in educational institutes and universities. They are fully equipped with all the required facilities.
e-Rozgar centers are helping the youth of Pakistan earn a sustainable and reasonable income. They are training youth in achieving internet based free lancing jobs which is revolution these days. A large number of trained youth from Pakistan are able to earn income through internet generated employment and bring foreign currency to the country. This program is ensuring economic development of Pakistan in high pace as well as elevating quality of life of youth by increasing their income.
E-Rozgar has started taking applications for admissions in its next batch. The applicant must be holder of Punjab province domicile; age limit is 35, has completed 16 years of education and is unemployed. The applicants who meet the mentioned eligibility criteria can apply online, they will be appearing at an online entry test, documents are also submitted online and in case the applicant is being selected then they will get their documents attested at one of e-Rozgar center respectively.
The candidates bestowed with admissions at e-Rozgar program will attend training sessions at their selected center by teachers who are master in their domains. The candidates can take training in one of three training domains which include: Technical, Content Marketing & Advertising and Creative Designing.
