To maintain the quality of M.Phil and Ph.D degrees, HEC has taken an important decision. They banned Admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. in those colleges that are affiliated with public and private universities. HEC will not certify M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees of affiliated colleges and institutions.
HEC has issued Student Alert on admissions in colleges affiliated with universities. The HEC has made it clear that admissions to M.Phil and Ph.D. in public and private colleges would be illegal and will not be accepted by the commission. So, students should avoid seeking admissions to these colleges.
HEC issued an alert in this regard which states that the affiliated colleges/ institutes are NOT allowed to offer Ph.D. and MS/MPhil or equivalent programs. Students are advised NOT to take admission in any program in the affiliated colleges/ institutes, since the resultant degrees shall NOT be recognized and attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The affiliated colleges/institutes are also advised not to advertise the admissions in Ph.D. and MS/MPhil/equivalent programs. Any such action is liable to be proceeded as per law.
