HEC Announces USAID –Funded Merit and Needs Based Scholarship Program

The higher education commission of Pakistan has announced the USAID- funded merit and needs-based scholarship program. The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist the students that are not financially strong to complete the education and moreover to provide them the quality education in the various academic fields. HEC has offered scholarships to female students and the candidates will be selected purely on merit. Up till now, more than 53,000 scholarships have been provided to students from the top 30 public and private educational institutes of Pakistan. The scholarship will cover the tuition fee, books allowance, boarding & lodging, transportation, and other academic costs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The female candidates are only eligible to apply who have secured admission in the academic session 2021.
  • Master’s/MBA/MS/M.Phil/Education teaching degree programs in selected disciplines allowed under the scholarship program.
  • The candidates have to meet all the mentioned requirements in order to secure the scholarship offered by the higher education commission.
  • Two-year associate degree programs are excluded from the scholarship criteria.

How To Apply?

  • The candidates have to submit the online application form through the web portal of the higher education commission.
  • The candidates are required to submit the printout of the application form along with the other documents.
  • There is no need to send the hard copy of the application form to the HEC.
  • The scholarship will be awarded on merit however the higher education commission reserves the right to cancel the scholarship award if candidates have provided any wrong information.
  • In the public sector universities, the candidates that have secured admission on a self-support/self-finance basis are considered ineligible to apply for this program.
  • The students availing of any other scholarship program are ineligible for this scholarship opportunity offered by the commission.
