Germany’s cancer researcher Fiona Kolbinger, aged 24, became the first woman to win cycling’s Transcontinental Race 2019 (No.7) from Bulgaria to France. She cycled for more than 2,485 miles across Europe in just over 10 days, 2 hours and 48 minutes. Britain’s Ben Davies finished second who completed the race in 10 days, 13 hours and 10 minutes.
