A few months after Pakistan lifted a ban on TikTok, the Sindh High Court ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2307756\/shc-orders-suspension-of-tiktok-till-at-least-july-8\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">suspend access<\/a>\u00a0to the video-sharing app until July 8, when the next hearing for the case is scheduled to take place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The details:<\/strong>\u00a0A citizen filed a petition against content on TikTok that he considers \u201cimmoral,\u201d \u201cobscene\u201d and \u201cagainst the teachings of Islam.\u201d Some of this content reportedly promoted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2307756\/shc-orders-suspension-of-tiktok-till-at-least-july-8\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">\u201cLGBTQ-Pride Month\u201d<\/a>\u00a0as well. The Sindh High Court referred to the Peshawar High Court\u2019s recent decision to lift a ban on TikTok, claiming that the app\u2019s administration is not doing enough to respect the law, basic Islamic teachings, and culture in Pakistan despite its constant assurances to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2021\/4\/1\/pakistan-lifts-tiktok-ban-for-a-second-time\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">moderate uploads<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>A brief timeline of the last two TikTok bans:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2021\/03\/12\/tech\/tiktok-pakistan-ban-intl-hnk\/index.html\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">On March 11 this year,<\/a>\u00a0the Peshawar High Court ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to impose a temporary ban on TikTok after several citizens filed complaints about\u00a0videos that were \u201cdetrimental to the youth\u201d and against Pakistan\u2019s \u201cnorms and values.\u201d The Peshawar High Court lifted the ban a few weeks later after the Pakistan\u00a0Telecommunication Authority said it discussed these issues with TikTok\u2019s administration. Going forward, the Peshawar High Court ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to make sure viewers in Pakistan can\u2019t access \u201cunethical and objectionable material\u201d on TikTok.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority temporarily\u00a0banned TikTok in October 2020\u00a0over concerns about\u00a0the impact of \u201cimmoral and indecent\u201d videos on society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The bottom line:\u00a0<\/strong>TikTok, owned by China-based ByteDance, has been downloaded nearly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2021\/4\/1\/pakistan-lifts-tiktok-ban-for-a-second-time\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">39 million times<\/a>\u00a0in Pakistan as of April 2021. The app is reportedly very popular among Pakistani youth, especially in rural areas. Suspects involved in Johar Town blast apprehended:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1631982\/hostile-intelligence-agency-involved-in-lahore-blast-punjab-cm\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">announced<\/a>\u00a0on Monday that a \u201chostile intelligence agency\u201d was involved in Lahore\u2019s Johar Town blast last week, though he didn\u2019t identify this agency that allegedly provided \u201cfinancial help\u201d to the suspected attackers. Buzdar said the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) identified suspects within 16 hours of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1631118\/lahore-blast-near-jailed-jud-leaders-house-kills-three\" data-emb-iscopy=\"true\">blast<\/a>. Police reportedly arrested the \u201cwhole network\u201d that arranged the car and filled it up with explosive material. The motive behind the blast is still unclear. Police pickets seemed to be the target of the attack. Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani also speculated that \u201chostile agencies\u201d are trying to \u201cembarrass\u201d Pakistan. Ghani pointed out that the blast took place during the Financial Action Task Force\u2019s plenary session &#8211; the global watchdog discussed Pakistan\u2019s progress in curbing money laundering and terrorist financing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Backstory:<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>The incident occurred near the house of convicted terrorist Hafiz Saeed on Wednesday, killing 3 and leaving 24 injured.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\"><strong>4.
