Security staff\u00a0at\u00a0Iqbal Park, where Minar-e-Pakistan is located, filed the complaint. Nearly 40 PML-N leaders, including party VP Maryam Nawaz, are listed in the case.\u00a0Security staff members accused PML-N leaders and workers of\u00a0violating the govt&#8217;s COVID-19 prevention measures. Rally organizers allegedly &#8220;manhandled&#8221;\u00a0security guards and damaged property as well. The Lahore police are also\u00a0going after people who facilitated the rally by providing services like chairs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Backstory:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an opposition alliance\u00a0made up\u00a0of 11 political\u00a0parties,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2020\/12\/13\/thousands-attend-opposition-rally-in-pakistan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newsletter.thenewsrun.com\/t\/j-l-aihmid-iluykthdp-z\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1608226630446000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH6mVKabITm2o5b1WOUcXDeyEln8w\">held an anti-govt rally at\u00a0Minar-e-Pakistan<\/a>. They are accusing PM Khan of hurting the country, and want him to resign. Members of the opposition alliance are blaming PM Khan for issues\u00a0like\u00a0a weak economy, media censorship, and high inflation. They insist that a rigged election brought PM Khan into power.
