It has a grey list, and a black list. The grey list is kind of like a &#8216;warning list.&#8217; It includes countries that are under increased\u00a0monitoring, but\u00a0actively working with the FATF to prevent\u00a0money laundering and terrorist financing. The black list suggests that a country is not cooperating with global efforts to combat money laundering or terrorist financing. Iran and North Korea are currently on the black list. Countries on the black list are\u00a0known as &#8216;high risk&#8217; jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The details:\u00a0<\/strong>Pakistan ended up on the grey list in June 2018 for failing to take appropriate action against money laundering and terrorist financing.\u00a0Pakistan has desperately been trying to avoid the\u00a0black list. A spot on the black list, and the negative reputation that comes with it, could potentially make it harder for Pakistan<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/blogs\/new-atlanticist\/pakistan-races-to-avoid-financial-watchdog-blacklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newsletter.thenewsrun.com\/t\/j-l-ayhlhdl-iluykthdp-h\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1603474831645000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFboG66e4cLxWx6eM4ILsSWzkWBFQ\">\u00a0to receive financial assistance<\/a>\u00a0from international organizations like the\u00a0World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The bottom line:\u00a0<\/strong>Pakistan has more work to do when it comes to regulating money laundering and terrorist financing. A stampede for Pakistani visas in Afghanistan<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thousands of people in Afghanistan\u00a0gathered in a football stadium to apply for Pakistani visas. The crowd was redirected to a sports stadium, instead of the usual visa center in Jalalabad, because there were a lot of applicants.
