On August 5 last year, India\u2019s govt revoked India-controlled Kashmir\u2019s special autonomy. With this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2257952\/pm-imran-unveils-new-political-map-of-pakistan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newsletter.thenewsrun.com\/t\/j-l-qkddlo-iluykthdp-h\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1596729878686000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGitC1R1Z7fm5600lVHNN9w2yncww\">autonomy<\/a>, the Muslim-majority region had the authority\u00a0to make its own laws, except when it came to finance, defence, foreign affairs, and communications. Pakistan and India both claim Kashmir in full, but only control parts of it.
