2. Balochistan Assembly files no-confidence motion against provincial chief minister

What’s going on? A group of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) lawmakers and their allies in the coalition government filed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan Alyani. 14 lawmakers signed the motion.

The details: Some BAP lawmakers filed the motion after members of Alyani’s own cabinet, along with other lawmakers, gave him a 24-hour ultimatum to resign. The Balochistan assembly has 65 members, and 20% of them need to sign the motion to table it for a discussion. Here’s the math: 20% of 65 is 13, and 14 lawmakers signed the motion.
